Frequently Asked Questions

Can I do the online course if I’ve done a hands-on course before?

Depending on when and where you did a course there may be some slightly different recipes! However whether you have learnt some of these recipes before, guaranteed you will learn something new in this online format. The best thing about it is that it gives everyone a chance to take a break from the stresses of the outside world, a chance to hang out and socialise with amazing new people! So we welcome previous JMOF graduates, all are welcome!

Can I send another person in the place of someone that I’ve booked in?

Bookings are non-transferrable and non-refundable. We will be recording all cooking classes which you will have full access to so if you are unable to attend a class you can simply head to the link we provide you with to watch the class in your own time.

Can you do a one-off cooking class?

The Jamie's Ministry of Food program, has been designed to promote long term behaviour change. Independent research has indicated 5 weeks is the ideal amount of time required to embed health benefits for the long term.

Research has shown four classes of Jamie Oliver's Learn Your Fruit and Veg can create positive behaviour change around food.

Do I have to cook along during the classes?

We encourage participants to cook along with us during the online classes, however there is no pressure to do so! If you'd like to simply watch and ask questions a long the way or cook some of the steps, that is totally fine!

Do I have to pay upfront?

Booking through our website is the preferred option for our online classes. An invoice can be provided for larger groups if required, with all invoices to be paid prior to the course commencing. If you need to speak with our Finance team regarding any payments, please email finance@thegoodfoundation.com.au

Does a carer have to pay?

*A carer is defined as a disability support worker

Where a carer is working alongside an individual they do not have to pay for themselves. The same carer must attend all classes in the course for health and safety purposes.

What are the recipes?

We generally don't advertise what recipes we are teaching in order to prevent preconcieved ideas of particular recipes, regardless of your cooking skill you are guaranteed to learn something new in this online format!

If you are concerned about the recipes from a dietary requirement perspective, please email info@thegoodfoundation.com.au

What if I don’t have the right ingredients for the recipe?

Once you sign up to an online course you will find a day by day list of the ingredients and kitchen equipment that will help you cook along with our trainer. We will also provide you with some alternatives for ingredients, just in case local supply is an issue for you!

What if I miss an online class or unable to attend a live session?

Our online classes will also be recorded during each session so that if you miss a class, or wish to watch your session back in your own time, you are able to!

Participants will be provided with a link shortly after the conclusion of a session and provided with the option to download the recorded session to their computer.

Will Jamie be there or be teaching the class?

Unfortunately no, but we are thrilled to be able to continue his work, teach his recipes, hints, and shortcuts to cooking delicious and healthy meals from scratch. He has visited all our centres and has met our teams and all our Food Trainers are trained to deliver the program in the unique Jamie style.
