Ipswich Region Home Schoolers

Ipswich Region Home Schoolers have organised several wonderful groups of students to learn to cook from scratch at Jamie's Ministry of Food in Ipswich.

Sarah was keen to further her childrens cooking skills and meet other students in the local home schooler's network. The group enjoyed the Jamie's Ministry of Food program so much that Sarah booked the Monday 1pm class continuously for 6 months.

Confidence has been the most significant growth and overwhelming positive to come out of the program. Parents were thrilled to watch the social interactions between their children. Read more

Christian College

Christian College VCAL year 12 students recently graduated from Jamie's Ministry of Food in Geelong with many positive outcomes including life skills and employability skills.

Deborah had previously completed the Jamie's Ministry of Food course in 2015 and saw the benefits first hand, recognising that the program would tie in with a number of learning outcomes for VCAL Senior Work Related Skills. Read more

Diabetes NSW

Diabetes NSW and Jamie's Ministry of Food Wetherill Park joined forces to teach both type 1 and type 2 diabetics and their families how to make good nutritious food for them. Wonderful social connections also formed with other local diabetics helping to build a healthier, happier community. Read more

Errington Special Education students enjoyed the 7 week course at Jamie's Ministry of Food Pop-Up Noarlunga. The year 12 students are working towards completing their Food Handling Course, and it was an excellent opportunity for the students to build upon their cooking knowledge and experience in a community environment. Settlement Service International booked in a group of asylum seekers to help them develop home cooking skills and build connections in their new community. The course at Jamie's Ministry of Food Wetherill Park taught handy cooking tips and useful nutrition information, while helping the students to connect with fellow asylum seekers.
